Focusing on independent film projects, Sinefilm was founded by director Pelin Esmer in 2005 where she produced her feaure length films so far together with her producer colleagues Tolga Esmer, Nida Karabol Akdeniz and Dilde Mahalli.
Among the productions of Sinefilm are highly praised and award winners The Play, 10 to 11 and Watchtower directed by Pelin Esmer. 10 to 11 and Watchtower are both produced as Turkish-German- French co-productions where Sinefilm has been the delegate production company. 10 to 11 was a coproduction with Arte-France whereas Watchtower was supported by Turkish Minisrty of Culture, CNC, Medianboard (Berlin) and Eurimages. Both of the films have been released in Turkey, France, Germany and USA. Sinefilm (Tolga Esmer) also line-produced a four-episode ARTE France documentary on Istanbul.
